Ridgehaven
Retirement Complex
Lifestyle
Our Activity Officers work closely with residents and families/representatives to provide a wide range of activities that are individually targeted, diverse, stimulating and socially interactive. Residents are encouraged to build on their capacities, pursue existing interests and acquire new ones.
The activities program is regularly refined to support resident choice and freedom. All residents are encouraged to have their say and choose the activities they would like to do. The activities calendar is published monthly as part of our newsletter, "Around the Ridges".
Activities for residents with dementia or other special needs are also individually planned and implemented according to preferences and capabilities.
Volunteers play an integral role in keeping residents connected with the general community. They support and assist with activities and outings as well as larger events such as Melbourne Cup Luncheon, Cent Sales, Bingo, Carols by Candlelight. These events are held at Ridgehaven and are open to the community. Our kitchen caters for all such events.
Our onsite hairdresser provides haircuts and hair do's on a regular basis in our hair salon. We also organise regular group visits to hair salons in town.
Our wheelchair accessible Hiace Bus enables trips around the district and beyond for day trips. It is also used to transport residents to local community events.
Our library holds a large selection of literature catering to many tastes. Residents can choose to recline in the library, take books back to their room or sit on a shady verandah to read.
