About Us

Background

Aged Care Monto Inc. is a not-for-profit community-based organisation that operates Ridgehaven Retirement Complex and the North Burnett Retirement Village. Our motto is “Quality of life for life”.

Monto and District Committee on the Ageing was formed in 1978 to raise funds for a facility that would provide residential aged care services for local residents and to ensure their continued lifestyle within their own community, close to families and friends. These services have now expanded to embrace residents from other areas seeking to live their twilight years in a secure, supportive and friendly environment.

Aged Care Monto was incorporated in 1999, its members are residents of Monto and district. The Board of Management is elected from the membership. The current Board comprises of 5 members whose profiles are shown further below.

Ridgehaven Retirement Complex has five interconnecting wings - Williams, Fairfax, Light Horse, Lodge and Three Moon. Central to these wings is the Sanderson Lounge which is the main entertainment and dining area. Activities and celebrations are regularly held in the Sanderson Lounge. A small kitchenette is provided for family functions and personal use. Computers with free WiFi access are also set up in the Sanderson Lounge for residents to use.
